As the Yankees are slowly crippling every month, in every way possible, the future of it’s current stars are beginning to be questioned. With constant injuries, legal issues, and a lack of progression this season, one famed Yankee might be seeing the door out next year.
The Yankees are currently in fourth place in AL East with a record of 60-57 just above the .500 line. The year started off with the absence of Rodriguez, Jeter, Granderson, Teixeira and newly departed Nick Swisher who had been a solid Yankee for them for three years.
The year has been overall disappointing for the Bronx Bombers besides the play of 5x all star Robinson Cano. Cano has been having an MVP year. His batting has been phenomenal getting a hit 3 out of 10 times he is at the plate. With the current money the team owes to many of its players in the next few years, and with an unclear future of how to move forward, it may be a good move for both the Yankees and Cano to break apart.
The best team I could see Cano going to would be the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers are on the uprise and have proven that they have a team built for success. Also they are not afraid to spend big bucks on the players they want as we have seen this year. The Dodgers had spent $233 million this year on players acquiring Hyun Jin Ryu, Zack Greinke, and re-signing Brandon League. The Dodgers are currently first in the NL West and are on a 6 game winning streak.
It may be best for the Yankees not to resign the Cuban Superstar and for the Dodgers to whip out the check book for a possible $200 Million+ deal.
